Performing Arts Medicine
Performing Arts Medicine is the discipline of promoting performer health and managing the physical and psychological effects of performance.
I am very proud to be recognised as a specialist lecturer / practitioner in Performing Arts Medicine and the official company therapist for Chichester Festival Theatre.
I am passionate about educating all performers about their health and so regularly lead workshops and lectures for amateur and professional performers. As a registered specialist for the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM), I offer free assessments for performers and courses of treatments at a special rate.
Have you ever had aching tired muscles? Headaches? Eye strain? Back pain?
Stress? Exhaustion? Does your performing life get you down?
If you recognise any of these suggestions, you are recognising a performance-related injury!
Use the tabs above to discover some of the injuries that are common in performers from all genres. It is really important that you do not ignore symptoms. If left untreated, conditions can deteriorate to the point where you abilities are effected and even prevent you from doing what you love to do.
